Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 June 2026
Eskolr (“we”, “us”) provides a private, school-controlled AI study assistant. We take the privacy of students, teachers, and schools seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have. Eskolr is designed to comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
Our core commitments
- Where your data is stored. Personal data is stored on infrastructure located in India (AWS Mumbai). To generate answers, some features send your question and relevant textbook content to trusted third-party AI providers, which may process it outside India under contractual data-protection terms.
- We never sell your data. Ever. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to any third party for any purpose.
- Answers come from your own books. Student questions are answered from your school’s textbooks, not by scraping personal data.
- The school is in control. Your school administrator manages accounts, content, and access.
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, role, class/school association — created by your school.
- Usage data: questions asked, chapters opened, answer ratings, and timing — used to improve answer quality and provide analytics to your school.
- Demo requests: if you submit the “Request a Demo” form, we collect the school name, contact name, email, phone, city, and board so our team can contact you.
How we use information
- To provide and improve the Eskolr service.
- To give teachers and school admins anonymised, aggregated insights about common doubts.
- To respond to demo requests and support enquiries.
Data minimisation & anonymisation
Analytics are aggregated and anonymised before analysis. We collect only what is needed to run the service and improve learning outcomes.
Sharing
We share data only with sub-processors strictly necessary to operate Eskolr (e.g. cloud hosting, AI inference), under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We do not share student data with advertisers.
Data retention
We retain data for as long as your school maintains an active subscription, or as required by law. On request from your school, we will delete or return personal data.
Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
- Access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure of personal data, subject to legal limits.
- Grievance redressal through the contact below.
Children’s data
Eskolr is used by school students, often minors. Accounts are created and managed by the school, which obtains the necessary consents from parents/guardians in line with the DPDP Act.
